Full-Time Prep Cook Fausto – Park Slope, Brooklyn Fausto, a beloved neighborhood restaurant and wine destination located on Flatbush Avenue in Park Slope, is seeking a full-time Prep Cook to join our dedicated kitchen team. Our market-driven menu is rooted in seasonality, locality, and a deep respect for classic technique—elevated yet approachable. We are looking for someone passionate about great food and committed to precision and consistency. This is a hands-on position that requires real cooking experience. You’ll be responsible for preparing foundational elements of our menu, from slow-cooked ragùs to deeply flavored stocks and sauces. You’re not just chopping vegetables—you’re setting the tone for service. Key Responsibilities: Morning Prep: Execute daily mise en place and support overall kitchen readiness ahead of service. Sauces, Stocks & Ragùs: Assist in preparing essential components of our menu with care and consistency. Opening Duties: Help open the restaurant each morning—clean, organized, and fully prepped. Quality & Precision: Uphold the highest standards in execution, cleanliness, and organization. Physical Readiness: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods. Teamwork: Support your fellow cooks and follow direction from sous chefs and chefs de cuisine.
